Thrombosed Hemorrhoids are hemorrhoids located externally that have developed into a blood clot. The blood clot may result due to a scrape or trauma to the existing hemorrhoids. It may form after a painful bowel movement especially when a person is constipated. The weakening and collapse of blood vessels in the anal and rectal region of the body may cause hemorrhoids. Thrombosed Hemorrhoids are usually not that serious.
