Animal shelters were created to deal with the many animals and pets that have been either abandoned by their owners or abused and neglected. Many people rush to get pets especially puppies and kittens, however there comes a time when the animal is all grown and has lost the cute look and all its novelty that had made you choose that specific animal in the first place. This is when neglect checks in and maybe even abandonment, by leaving the animal at the side of the road or refusing to feed your pet causing it to end up thin and skinny.
