Oklahoma enjoys a rich, diverse history that is filled with many different cultures and resources that came together over the period of many years. The great region of Oklahoma officially became the 46th state on November 16, 1907. Prior to this title, Oklahoma state history considered this area Indian territory, because it was considered home to the Osage and Quapaw tribes.
