Milton Ernst Rauschenberg, to be called later as Robert Rauschenberg, was born on October 22, 1925 in Port Arthur Texas. Robert Rauschenberg had Fundamentalist Christian parents, with his father, Ernest Rauschenberg, of German and Cherokee descent, while his mother, Dora Rauschenberg, was an Anglo-Saxon. Robert Rauschenberg pursued his academics at the Kansas City Art Institute and the Acad?mie Julian in Paris, France. Here he met the painter Susan Weil, whom he married in the summers of 1950.
