At the Government Technology Conference recently in California, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger recommended that during the next big heat wave there could be power outages and that it is important to check on your neighbors to make sure they are okay. So often, when older folks die during heat waves it is because they would either not turn on the air-conditioning to save money or the power went out. A simple visit from a neighbor would have prevented those deaths.
