Are Our Vaccines Safe

Are Our Vaccines Safe

The debate rages on about whether or not there is a link between Thimerosal and Autism. It is the mercury in Thimerosal that creates concern. The mercury in Thimerosal acts as a preservative that keeps mold from growing in the vaccine. Thimerosal has not been added to childrens vaccines in several years and the rate of Autism has not gone done. Because of this it is doubtful that the link can be made between Thimerosal and Autism. But as to whether or not Thimerosal is safe is a different question. Mercury is one of the most toxic substances in our invoiromment. It is so toxic that when a dentist removes an amalgam filling that material is classified as toxic waste.

Mercury is a metal that is hard for you body to remove. The great danger about it is that it tends to build up in your system. The question is not whether one dose of Thimerosal is safe but rather are dozens of doses safe. It is true that a single dose is slightly less than what the EPA claims as safe. So if you only are exposed to it once then maybe this is ok. But when you consider that our senior population gets a flue shot every year and a pneumonia shot every 5 that is significantly more than what the EPA considers safe. On top of that we are seeing mercury showing in more and more types of fish.

Here is the big question. Why use something so toxic when it is not even needed?

Thimerosal is only needed when multi-use vials are packaged. It is not needed when vaccines are packed individually. This cost a few cents more than packing it the other way so why accept using something so toxic when it can be packaged safely with out it?

Is it worth the risk to our health to save this small amount of money?

I have been shocked for years that the medical community has not been up in arms about the use of Thimerosal in vaccines or any other kind of medication. There is a growing movement in dentistry away from using mercury based amalgam material in fillings. I just can not understand why the medical community does not stand up and demand safer vaccines.

The solution to this debate is simple. If all vaccines (as is the case with almost all other injections) are packaged in single dose packaging then we will we will significantly reduce our exposure to this extremely dangerous toxin.
